LONDON COLLEGE OF MUSIC SINGING EXAM PREPARATION TIPS
1) Check the LCM regulations - if you are entering to qualify for your London College of Music singing grades through your school or college, then your singing tutor should ensure that you adhere to any guidelines set by the London College of Music exam board. If you are applying as a private individual through a private vocal coach, make sure your teacher has run through anything you are unsure of - it is their responsibility to ensure they comply, not yours.
2) Get to grips with your syllabus - it doesn't matter whether you've been singing for a month or 10 years; there will be a syllabus to follow for your London College of Music singing grades and you need to follow it - and know it inside out! The more you know, the more you can focus on any weaker areas with your vocal coach, and the less you have to think about on the day. These will differ depending on what grade you are taking, so don't assume that you know what to expect if you have taken singing exams before.
